THANKSGIVING

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

We had a great time today. We went to Rob's parents house. The drive here was a little bit of a pain considering I was alone in the car with 4 dogs, a cat, and 2 children. Rob's sister Lisa was here with her 2 dogs and of course Rob's parents' 2 dogs were here as well......Just try to add all those up!!! The kids spent Wednesday night helping Banana decorate the tree. There were only a few broken ornaments. The next day Allie was able to help cook and of course sample a bit of turkey as she went. Today was also Colton's birthday so we celebrated with a few presents and cake and ice cream!!! When it was all said and done, all the adults were pooped and the kiddos were still going. We thought it was funny that with all the new toys he got, Colton still preferred to play with the cups.

Allie had her Thanksgiving lunch at school today. I was able to join her for a little time. She insisted that the cookies we brought for the feast were "home-made" which at my house means that I used a pre-made mix and added the other ingredients :o)
Allie and her friends did a project about Sacajewea(sp?) and Allie was a news reporter. Here are a few pictures of her presenting it to the class with her group.

Colton has started potty-training! He is doing better at the babysitters than he is at home, but we are working on it. Needless to say we spend countless minutes WAITING!!

OK--All that talk about wishing I had no animals......down the tubes...I am a sucker for a furry face like the rest of my family. Here are some pictures of our newest family member Oreo. Yes, we have officially crossed over to being the crazy pet family. We are just one animal short of having our neighbors show up at our house with pitchforks and torches forcing us out!! Anyway, he is really a doll, although getting him to sit still long enough for a picture is near impossible. He is wearing a disney scarf in hopes that his grandparents will have pity on him and take him to disney this summer. He also has a longhorn scarf that he wore home so that his daddy would have to love him....considering I decided to bring him home without dad's approval...I know I am terrible.

Halloween was a blast! We started the night out in our neighborhood and visited some of the streets closest to our house. Allie kept telling everyone that she was a goth girl much to my dismay! I kept saying "No you are not--you are Frankensister!!" Colton would not keep his hat on for long. It took him a while to get the hang of the trick or treating. He would run up to a house with his sister and get some candy. Then he wanted me to open it right away so he could eat it. He would refuse to go up to any other doors until that piece was finished. It was like he was saying--Wait, I can't eat that fast!! He finally did start putting his candy in his bucket. He was so funny though anytime there was something scary. He would be running up to a porch behind Allie and her friends and as soon as he would see something scary, he would high tail it back towards me yelling MAMA! Then it would take a few houses before we got him to try again. After our streets, we went to Robin's neighborhood and visited some houses there. The kids were pooped by 9pm.
