We had a good valentine's day! We went to eat with Daddy last night at Rico's. Daddy wasn't here today because he had to head back to work, so we had a valentine lunch with our best friends. Here is a picture of my and my sweet little valentine! Allie had a blast with her friends but Colton was there for his momma!

We had a busy weekend! Allie had a project for school that took her all day Saturday. She was so excited to do it by herself! She didn't even want me to use the hot glue gun for her. Then on Sunday we went to a dance showcase for Allie's dance. She had a lot of fun, and has decided she definitely wants to do competition again this year. Colton made us all laugh when he put on a dress from one of Allie's bears and ran onto the gym floor saying "I gotta dance!!" It was really cute.

Dancing King

I took a video of Colton and Allie dancing to one of Allie's old dancing songs. It was so funny because as soon as this song came on, Colton ran upstairs and came back down with Allie's pom poms! He was ready to put on a show! Of course Allie is always ready to ham it up for the camera...even if that means putting her rump right in the way~hope you enjoy!

Freedom At Last

Well, after many weeks of thinking about it...I decided today was the day that I was going to stop wearing my wig. I had already been going out and about to some places without it, but I had been wearing it everyday to school. I was worried about how the kids would react. Late last night I started messing around with my hair to see how I might could fix it. Considering it is only maybe an inch long, this was definitely easier said then done. I started by looking at short hairstyles online thinking maybe I could get an idea. I found one that was kind of spiky.....thought I might could pull it off. I was wrong. I showed Allie first and she said she liked it better flat. So I took off to my neighbor's house for a second opinion. She is one of those great friends that will be brutally honest with you. She nicely told me that it looked a little like I had been in a wind tunnel. Thanks Jay! It takes a good friend to tell you what you need to hear sometimes. So, I almost gave up but woke up and decided that I would just fix it and wear it however it came out. Allie was so sweet. She told me"It's time Momma. Your hair has gotten long enough." I agreed so off I went to school with my so-called hairstyle.
I got a lot of double looks and questionable gazes, and two of my boys told me I looked scary......that was a little hard. Allie heard some of the muttering and I could tell that it really upset her. I told her it would be okay and she said she just didn't like people talking about me like that. I sat my class down and talked to them about me being sick this summer and how this was my real hair. I told them that I really wanted to be myself and asked them if it would be okay. I told them I know it is not a beautiful style, but I am waiting for it to grow. They were so sweet after that. The rest of the day went smoothly. The longer I was there, the less awkward I felt. At recess, the wind was blowing pretty hard and I kept thinking how weird it felt to feel my hair blowing. I am so glad I decided to do it. This was just that little reminder of my cancer that I was ready to get rid of. Now all I have to do is get rid of my port and stay cancer-free. EASY!
Here is a picture that Allie took of me this afternoon. She is a little photographer in the making.
Thanks to all who supported me today by telling me how great I looked.

Here is a slideshow from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The kids and I went to church on Christmas Eve and then headed home for Christmas dinner. Since it was just the 3 of us, our meal was pretty lame....rotisserie chicken, steamed corn and rice, pre-made sweet potatoes and rolls. Allie said that it was the best Christmas meal ever!!!! I thought that was pretty funny. This was our first Christmas without Robert being home. It was very quiet and felt a little lonely to me, but the kids seemed to be okay with it. Allie did say it wasn't fair a couple of times, but the delight of Santa coming kept her from being too down about it. I videoed everything so Daddy could watch when he gets home. I just feel so blessed to be able to spend this special time with my sweet babies.

We went to Rob's parents in Corpus. The kids had fun singing karaoke Christmas carols and wearing blinking santa hats. Rob looked the funniest in his because it stuck straight out to the side and was missing the white ball on top. We opened presents at night because Rob was leaving for work the next morning. The kids got a Wii.....but of course I have played it just as much as they have. Colton got a motorized car so he could zip around our cul-de-sac and keep up with all the big kids. We had a great time!

This was the first of many Christmas get togethers this year. This was with my mom's side of the family. We had it at our house. Colton had fun opening his presents. We were all laughing because my nephew Kaden got a gun and was shooting at Colton. Colton did not mind at all because he just got his Handy Manny Saw and used it for a gun. Both toys made lots of noise and the boys had a blast!
